ECO Build London and Passivhaus

Visitors to this year’s Eco Build Conference in London took the opportunity to learn about the design and build principles of Passivhaus. 

The German concept is fast becoming the leading principle across both Europe and the UK and Raynsway’s own Passivhaus building on our Watermead Business Park in Syston was the subject of one of Eco Build’s seminars.  

Matt Wrate, Senior Mechanical Engineer with Couch Perry & Wilkes was at the forefront in the design of this eco friendly and energy reducing building and headed a case study entitled “Interserve HQ: the UK’s first commercial Passivhaus office” on Wednesday 21 March 2012.

The Green Apple Awards

Raynsway’s Passivhaus building situated at Watermead Business Park were recently presented with a Green Apple Environment Award.   The Award was presented at the House of Commons on the 12th November 2012 during a carbon-neutral presentation ceremony.

Tom Watkinson and the Passivhaus Conference

November 2012 saw the Passivhaus Conference take place at the Nottingham University.  The two day event offered a comprehensive review of the Passivhaus phenomena currently sweeping across the construction industry.   The conference covered key themes such as planning, procurement, costs and benefits including many other aspects of Passivhaus constructions for residential, non-domestic and refurbishment projects.    ...more
