Raynsway welcome new additions to the reed bed
Raynsway Properties have welcomed seven new additions to the reed bed situated at Watermead Country Park which was created last summer.
The reed bed acts as a natural water tank and has become a host to a variety of wildlife including the Red Rumped Swallow and the rare Bittern.
The new additions at the reed bed feature a family of swans that have welcomed seven cygnets, the lively family are a permanent fixture at the reed bed at Watermead Country Park and welcome any bread to help them settle in.
Tom Watkinson, Managing Director for Raynsway Properties comments, "Whilst reed bed acts as natural drainage they also serve a very important ecological purpose and we are delighted that the reed bed at Watermead is beginning to attract wild plants and particulalry rare species of birds, much like the reed bed at our Lakeside site. Once established they require very little maintenance and will continue to thrive as they mature."
